EUROPEAN LPG ASSOCIATION (AEGPL)

EUROPEAN LPG ASSOCIATION (AEGPL)The AEGPL is a dynamic platform providing a forum for the sharing of expertise developed by LP Gas operators from all across Europe. This exchange of experiences generates innovative proposals and action plans, contributing to the energy policy objectives of national and European authorities.

The AEGPL’s overriding goal is to stimulate the creation of an appropriate legal framework applicable to the European LP Gas industry in order to develop the contribution of LP Gas as a sustainable energy beneficial for society as a whole. AEGPL is comprised of national LP Gas associations, representing the main European LP Gas suppliers, distributors and equipment manufacturers. The structure is designed to facilitate the active participation of members in both the strategic objectives of the association and the corresponding input into the legislative process. For this latter task, the specialised working groups - composed of industry experts - are of particular importance.

In order to ensure its participation in the promotion of LP Gas at the international level, AEGPL cooperates closely with the World LP Gas Association.

AEGPL’S MISSIONS

  • To identify and monitor European energy, environment, taxation and research policy as well as any other EU initiatives having an impact on the LP Gas industry.
  • To engage in an ongoing dialogue with the European Commission, Council and Parliament and other relevant stakeholders, including the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, to ensure that the sector’s initiatives and legislative proposals are consistent with the needs and objectives of the EU.
  • To inform AEGPL members of relevant developments in and around the European institutions, notably as regards the legal framework governing energy policy.
  • To develop best-practices and standards related to LP Gas conducted in cooperation with ISO (International Organization for Standardization), CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and the United Nations (Economic Commission for Europe).
  • To promote and enhance the LP Gas industry’s image in the eyes of key European, international and national authorities and other organizations able to influence the energy market in Europe.

As an engaged and committed stakeholder, AEGPL is committed to demonstrating the meaningful role that LP Gas - the safe, clean, healthy, multi-purpose, efficient and strategic energy solution - can play in the European energy portfolio.
